No One Lives Here: Jerangle Hotel, 2012
Jerangle is a small community of less than 250 people, about a hundred kilometres south east of Canberra. I found it by searching online for ghost towns. Australia has very few, and Jerangle is not properly one of them.
Like many people, I find the places that humans build, and then abandon, intensely interesting. Nothing reminds us so vividly that the domain we usually inhabit is contrived than seeing the non-human world reclaim the spaces we leave behind.
